Professional Activities and Interests
Parviz Ghandforoush is Professor of Business Information Technology and Director of the MBA Program in Northern Virginia. He received the Ph.D. from Texas Tech University, and M.B.A. and a B.S.E.E. from the University of Texas at Austin. He is the past president of ISA. He has also served as President, Vice-President/Program Chair, Newsletter Editor, Secretary and Treasurer of TIMS College on Engineering Management (COLEM). Dr. Ghandforoush's teaching interests include mathematical programming and production/operations management. His primary research interests are in integer programming, large-scale mathematical programming problems, engineering management, and decision support systems. He is the co-author of the textbook, Management Science for Decision Makers. Dr. Ghandforoush is a member of the Editorial Board for Computers and Operations Research, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, and is the editor of a special issue in integer programming for Computers and Operations Research. He has published numerous articles in journals including Naval Research Logistics Quarterly, IIE Transactions, ORSA Journal on Computing, European Journal of Operations Research, Omega, TIMS Studies in Management Science, International Journal of Production Research, Computers and Operations Research, Computers and Industrial Engineering, Journal of the Operational Research Society, and several refereed book chapters. Dr. Ghandforoush is a member of INFORMS, DSI, COLEM, and ISA.
