Professional Activities and Interests
Alan Abrahams is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Information Technology, Pamplin College of Business, at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. His current research interests are in the areas of Entrepreneurial Decision Support, with particular interests in data mining, new opportunity identification and valuation, medical informatics for entrepreneurial philanthropy (HIV/AIDS clinical decision support), automated interpretation and enforcement of regulations, and development of simulation environments for modeling knowledge transfer. He received a PhD with a major in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor of Business Science degree with a major in Information Systems from the University of Cape Town.
